1. Agreement

DavidLeeAuthor.com is the personal website of the author David Lee. By accessing or using it you agree to these terms and to all applicable laws. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

These terms may be updated from time to time. The version published here is the one that applies, and the date of the last change is shown at the foot of this page.

2. Intellectual property

All content on this site - text, book excerpts, descriptions, cover artwork, photographs, the signature mark, and the design and code of the site itself - is the property of David Lee or is used with permission, and is protected by copyright and other laws.

You may read, print and share pages for your own personal, non-commercial use, and you are welcome to link to any page. You may not reproduce, republish, adapt, sell, or use any part of the content for commercial purposes, or train machine learning systems on it, without prior written permission.

Book titles, cover designs and the series name Bound by the Circle are used as marks of the author's work.

3. Acceptable use

Please do not use this site to send unlawful, abusive, deceptive, or automated bulk messages; to attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or its server; or to interfere with anyone else's use of it.

Cruising for Spirits and the Bound by the Circle series contain explicit sexual content and are intended for adult readers. Descriptions of those titles on this site are written for a general audience, but if you are under 18 the books themselves are not for you.

4. External links

This site links to third-party services including Amazon, Buy Me a Coffee, Facebook, Instagram and X. Those sites are not under my control. Their content, terms and privacy practices are their own, and a link here is not an endorsement of anything else you may find there.

5. Purchases and support

No books are sold directly through this site. "Buy the book" links take you to Amazon, and any purchase you make is a transaction between you and Amazon, governed by Amazon's terms - including delivery, refunds, and pricing.

Contributions made through Buy Me a Coffee are voluntary gifts in support of the writing. They are not payment for goods or services, are handled entirely by that platform, and are generally not refundable through me.

6. What you send me

If you send a message through the contact form, you confirm the information you provide is accurate and that you are entitled to send it. Please do not send confidential material, or manuscripts and story ideas you expect to be kept in confidence or paid for - unsolicited creative submissions are not reviewed, and no obligation of confidentiality arises from sending them.

How your message is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.

7. No warranty and limitation of liability

This site is provided "as is". While care is taken to keep it accurate and available, no guarantee is made that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the information on it is complete or current.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, David Lee is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site or anything you find through it.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Alberta have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
